Pride Week in Peel takes place each year in July. Throughout the week, events are organized by various community groups and organizations. The Pride Week in Peel Festival and Peel Trans* Pride are organized by the Pride Week in Peel Team. Outreach efforts, including the running of this website, are also coordinated by the Pride Week in Peel Team.
In previous years, Pride Week in Peel volunteer opportunities have included support with outreach, Festival shifts, and organizing Peel Trans* Pride. Based on community feedback, and to support the continued growth of Pride Week in Peel, year round volunteer opportunities have been introduced this year to give community folks who are connected to Peel’s LGBTTIQQ2S communities a more central role in organizing Pride Week in Peel 2015.

Recognizing that LGBTTIQQ2S individuals and communities face oppression on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, class, ability, body size, immigration status, country of origin, culture, age, religion, etc., Pride Week in Peel organizing is grounded in values of accessibility, anti-racism, anti-oppression, anti-homophobia, anti-transphobia and inclusion.
